About the Show
Between Two Cones is a podcast for the people behind transportation. We bring together voices from across the industry, from work zones and safety to policy and innovation. It’s the real stories, quirks, ideas, and hopes for the future of how we move.
Why
What
Transportation isn’t just roads and traffic. It’s people, ideas, safety, and culture. Our mission is to create a space where transportation workers feel seen and heard. We want to break down silos, laugh at the weird stuff, dig into the serious stuff, and highlight solutions that matter.
- Conversations with industry insiders, innovators, and everyday problem-solvers
- Stories that highlight risk takers, challengers, and practical doers
- Honest reflections that remind us transportation is as human as it is technical
- A podcast that keeps it real and brings joy back to your work community
Who

Amanda Holland has spent her career making transportation work better for people. Whether it was leading Alaska DOT, building better guiding documents, or connecting national conversations through AASHTO, she’s been at the table shaping solutions. She knows her way around both policy and practice, and she brings a knack for straight talk, collaboration, and a sense of humor that makes even the toughest conversations lighter.
Trish Clarke is a systems analyst, problem solver, and storyteller with a passion for connecting dots across people, data, and ideas. By day she supports workforce innovation in Texas. By night she’s usually knee-deep in nerd culture, comic book walls, and creative projects. She brings a mix of energy and curiosity to every episode, proving that serious topics don’t have to be boring.
Opinions are entirely my own (and sometimes even make sense). They don’t represent my employer, just the inner narrator who refuses to use corporate jargon.
